Dear Professionals 
 I have a Mac Pro 
 2x3GHz Dual-Core Intel Xeon 
 3GB 667MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM Ram 
 ATI Radeon X1900 OpenGL Engine 
 After Effects 7pro 
 and the following questions:  
- Why use AE for rendering only 10 -12% of RAM?  - Why do I render with openGL - but the result is a miserable quality? Although OpenGL Info Preferences indicates that all functions be supported! 
 - I have a 3D composition, with 4 levels of bottom to top: white background / transparent touch lines / point-light / Camera 
 They throw the note lines of shadows on the white HG. The depth of field is switched on and the camera glides over the touch lines. Rendering the first frame breaks due to too little RAM for the Blur / presentation from the shadows. Now I am aware that the score-line layer is very large (8000x8000px) but what do I do if this is as big or even bigger need?

 You have ideal conditions in which the nu Ram is used up. 
 Picture 8000x8000 
 Light + shade 
 Depth 
 3D layers 
 (8000x8000px) but what do I do if this is as big or even bigger need?  The compositional resolution to 1 / 4 or even less are

 Fact: OpenGL 1.5/1.6 and makes use of AE7 maximum 4096x4096 px big "Textures". Ergo - everything is bigger is not calculated or from the small hochskaliert texture. 
 Fact: OpenGL 1.5/1.6 only supports pixel shader limited, makes no subpixel antialiasing, no soft shadows, not always Motionblur etc., all those useful things that we as a "quality" exercise. 
 Fact: OpenGL 1.5/1.6 works with square pixels, is for video only limited useful because anamorphic pixels ugly squashed / stretched. 
 Fact: OpenGL runs on the graphics card. Everything that can not, can not synonymous OpenGL and 256 MB VideoRam auf'm notebook is now nix times when working with 8000x8000px. There is no air for the planes themselves, nor for their Shadowmaps. 
 Fact: OpenGL auf'm Mac is shit, even in Leopard. Thank you letters are directed s.Steve jobs. * lol * 
 Um's to the point to make: you Pinkel yourself to the bone, because thou hast null Checkung what goes with OpenGL and what it is intended. 
Hardware OpenGL for rendering and preview work purposes, but not for final output. So just switch off and abandon it if the project does not fit. It is as simple as that.

 s.alles zero to do so. OpenGL !!!!!!!!  really did mean he thinks synonymous in reality Ram Preview and so it probably has something to do ;-)

 I thought the final rendering, the Ram Preview works perfectly, without openGL synonymous. 
 What should I invest because even if I wish to carry out such projects? Thought the Mac was a allerwelts Power Machine ... 
 Why is the Render Queue 
RAM: 10% of 3GB, ists possible the RAM with the graphics card to link the 3GB?

 upgrade to CS3. 
 During Final Render is mainly due to the CPUs on.
