On the verge of a big event we saw s.Wochenende a team with a RED, and there was a very strange lens mounted on it. Silvery shiny, long - about 30 cm - Tubus no apparent focus ring or the like, and the front lens strongly curved outwards, no hood.
What can be because of a Lens (converter) been? The front lens of looks like a fisheye, but then adjusts the overall length is not. The camera was actually in the position shown in operation, but there were in the direction to film absolutely nothing except the sky strahlendblauen (synonymous if the guy behind the camera as synonymous hochguckt).
(We could not ask because we had to do - as a time, were already gone ...)
On one of our clips, I found the camera in the far background, the picture is greatly magnified ...

For a Fisheye I think it just too long, this was a surprise .. Converter might matter, but it would on a telephoto focal length on it, or a macro-ring .. still enigmatic: - /

As with the system we already have worked oh.
It is pretty safe to 6mm with a Nikon fisheye converter to the image of the Circle Nikon lens on the smaller sensor in the Red adapt.
Sowas is usually used for Fulldomeaufnamen.

... pretty sure ... Nikon 6mm fisheye ... That would have almost 24cm front lens diameter, which is part of the image but still tend not to look?

Okay, that is, a fisheye ... but why on this long tube? In conjunction with a telephoto converter would have a very shitty picture, if only an "intermediate ring" is (this is the part probably too long), it makes no sense, because the fish sure has s.Frontlinse sharp draw.

The converter is more of a optischel Relay, which is the next focal shortening, that is the other way around as a tele converter.
