Hello,
I want to buy me a new mini-DV camera, since my Canon MV30i is getting on in years and no longer working properly. In particular, the mechanical playback system and the Firewire interface has quirks.
Now I look around at Sonyand Panasonic. Can still DV - In using software unlock, or you have to buy another expensive camera that has DV - In?

PS.: Somebody in the Stuttgart area knows someone who could repair the MV30i and cheaper than the official service of Canon?

Hello Wolfgang,
DV-IN is now no longer so easy to unlock. That the offer s.entsprechend equipped camcorders is much larger than a few years ago and the Prices for a device with DV input are now significantly lower than the previous starting price of about 5,500 DM ;-)
