Frage von Rolf_S:Hi,
I have a number of S-VHS tapes of my children, which I gladly would transfer to DVD. As a member of the older generation (70 +) gave me the search in the forum only helped (little idea of the matter). What I've s.Geräten:
S-VHS Grundig GV690 VCR with S-Video jacks & 5 pin Scart
PC with Athlon X2 4200 +
without a Firewire port and without a TV card
What would I s.Hard-and software? If necessary, I would prefer to have a TV card as a DVD recorder to invest (in the recorder have a satellite receiver, but without any output), or an A / D converter.
I would greatly appreciate pleased that I can implement directly. One or the other has already been described, but perhaps there is someone can summarize, so I understand it synonymous.

The question is not easy to answer.
The easiest way for an easy and (almost) unedited copy of the purchase would be a DVD recorder. For simple postprocessing (beginning, end, remove advertising) would be a version with hard drive is ideal. The handling s.die a VCR based. The conversion is done in real time, so while the VHS tape is running. But you write so that you have not actually want.
For a proper conversion would then NaOCH the purchase or a loan-to-digital converter Anaolog in question. The deliver the signal from s.PC than Firewire, so you still need a firewire card. This is but 10, - bis 20, - euro area and to get the installation on the PC is no problem.
Quallitativ this is the best solution. The actual reading is done in real time synonymous here, you can with an editing program to be reworked and then usually from the same program to burn to DVD. But to burn it is a necessary transcoding, which is lengthy, but the man quietly over night to run.
The digitizing via a TV card is a "cheaper", but by the necessity for joint use of the soundcard the sound is not entirely unproblematic. Often it is too Unsynchronitäten between Picture and Sound, which the later television enjoyment but markedly reduced.
I capture my analogue material (VHS) on a DV recorder with analog inputs. If you like a digital camera with analog input is available, you can make the so synonymous. The entsprcht the approach with an analog-digital converter.

Hello thos,
thank you for your quick reply. If I borrow the version with an analog-digital converter (eg Canopus ADVC-55) & Firewire card take, what would I still need s.Software. How far is Microsoft Media Center here to use - have Vista HP. The films themselves, I will not specifically edit.

The question should be kind enough to answer to someone else. I do not have Vista and my DVDs, I am with her my editing program, which is why I use other burning options and Programs not pursue next ....

Hi Peter,
thank you for the hint. If yes a simple solution. Is there a TV card synonymous with a SAT tuner and otherwise identical properties, then they would be universally applicable. Analog Channel is no longer with us.

Hello,
because there were a few Imperial days of Pinnacle Dazzle, which is part s.usb connected. To do this you need but still such a part, with the VCR scart s.den you can be infected and the cables for video (red, yellow, white) but Musst auspassen that you can switch s.den Scartatapter, video in and video out ( small switch above)
Hopefully, I have written it now, otherwise you have to ask again.
Greeting and good luck
