Frage von bluedater:Dear Forum,
Once again a question of a newbie: for my new Canon HF 100 do I need a SDHC card. According to this manual must be at least Class 4. Once I've researched, I find that there are huge price differences (eg, Transcend 16GB for 31 ¬, SanDisk 16 GB Ultra for EUR 43, SanDisk 16GB Extreme EUR 73).
What is it when you buy now to really look out for? Where are these differences? Extreme is better than Ultra? SanDisk Transcend better than? Or met any Class 4 card requirements. I do not want to buy that I do not actually need.
Thank you for your support.
Many Greetings, Blue Sue

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you tell me whether or Class 4 which extends the benefits of a Class 6 card in the practical application lie?

I would in any case to a Class 6 card rates, since the transfer of data into the computer much faster of states goes. On top is no price difference between Class 4 and Class 6 cards. There are even many Class 4 cards that are more expensive than Class 6 cards are.
After our experience with various cheap flash memory (CF, SD, SDHC, MS PRO), there is no qualitative difference to the well-known manufacturers. Probably come Flash chips and controller (the building blocks of such a card) is always of the same suppliers.

Extreme is certainly faster than Ultra. Makes sense, but rather at fast reflex cameras for shooting, or as already described in the transfer to the PC.
There is a speed test:

and a (sadly no longer current) market survey) as a reference point with different Cardreadern:

"Extreme" or "ultra" are vendor-specific information which is not comparable, nor are standardized. Anything with SD cards is one of the "Class" number.
Maps with less space at the same class and range usually slightly faster than the 16GB and 32GB models. That must be synonymous with benchmarks to be taken into account, where the major card types are not listed.

Hi folks,
I would like to see like a 32GB SD pick and now I'm not quite sure what I should take. Can you briefly tell me whether I prefer the SanDisk or Kingston should take?
