Frage von elverano:We will soon turn in the tropics. DVCam format. We use the good SonyDVCam-tapes that are supplied in the booklet bulky boxes. For space and weight reasons, we have repackaged the standard MiniDV cassettes in envelopes. Since the tapes are not now protected against moisture, I wanted it shrink-with a household Einschweißgerät.
My question: Since the welding yes Dutch happens the heating of the film by a wire, and thereby determines chemical fumes are (but minimal), I wonder if it could give rise to chemical reactions with the DV tapes?
Are there any experience?

I had planned to weld the cassette only at home and then they put the spin in the jungle in Ziplock bags with a packet of silica gel.
