Hello,
I have multiple TV recordings as AVI (DivX and Xvid) in 4:3 and 16:9. However, with a distorted aspect ratio, ie, eggs Köppe or moon faces.
Can I do it with VirtualDub (or any other software to correct what?) And how do I do that?
The aim is to look at this s.Television using stand-alone player.

So: How do we correct distorted aspect ratios of AVI (DivX and Xvid)?

That I know better, but'll post any personal communication. I have no time for such self-help sheriffs who seek to produce in the anonymity of forums.
So, if anyone still wants to say what matter, what aspect ratio distorted AVIs can be corrected, most willingly! :)
In Windows Media Player, some AVIs appear almost square, and thus show eggheads, as if an original 4:3-format then squeezed. How to pull apart again at the correct size?
Like I said, the aim is to look at the files on the SAP and TV.

AVI to correct a distorted would usually not an issue, but since it is DivX-compressed material, the matter would be difficult. The result would be likely to run any more Picture and sound synchronously.

DivX: Soundtrack delayed more I would try to find a software player that is the pixel aspect ratio (PAR = Pixel Aspect Ratio) into account. And then I would hope that the DivX files with the correct PAR were created.
