Effects than the Canopus hardware 300 and a good S-VHS VCR.
Missing only the software to capture.
Do you have experience with what software / codec you the best quality erziehlt?

The codec you are already Canopus 300. The device feeds DV video into the PC.
You can actually fit each DV capture program, so the IR signal of the firewire card and to read into a DV AVI file to write. In the field as freeware WinDV or CaptureFlux. VirtualDub is IMHO not suitable.
The DV AVI files will have a size of approximately 13 GB / h. If the file s.Stück you need is an NTFS formatted partition memory requirement.
The question is rather: How do you want to further? What is your target format? DVD? Do you already have editing software?

With what software / codec should I believe your DV AVI files and convert cut.
My PC is newly [Core2Duo] and the hard disks [raid 0] should be synonymous fast enough for most programs.
The problem is that the videos are no longer in the best quality and I, therefore, the quality loss is as low as possible want.
The best would be a program which perhaps synonymous nor the car a little more saturated colors and sharpens the contours ..
So, Magix Video 2007 and Pinnacle Studio 10, I have, but would not be a software Edius Pro how much better?

MPEG2 can be set so that it is DVD compliant. MPEG1 can manage synonymous DVD compatible. Other opportunities have you not. There are no other compatible DVD codecs.
I put myself still a cut version of film in DV AVI format Page. In addition, I play the cut version on my DV camera back. That is, if the Camera DV-IN is capable of.
As you already ahnst, I cut out completely in DV AVI format, synonymous later if I need MPEG2 for DVD. The same, I can only recommend. Many DV editing programs are programmed so that only changed images in the video re-compressed. The rest is 1:1 copies without further loss.
