Frage von tobyasd:I want my SonyPC1e via Firewire for capturing s.meinen PC (Win XP SP2) to connect, but this recognizes the camera. Not so and not synonymous in WinDV or Movie Maker.
The problem seems to be known: http://photo.net/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg?msg_id=006MDk
Only the solution is not. Or. those who started this thread so far have foolishly then the solution is not posted:

Something is always pretty annoying. If anyone knows the solution, I would be very grateful ...

Hello Kai,
the computer, you can probably be excluded as the cause. Next, test a different firewire cable and then another MiniDV camcorder. Great response ... And what is become of it? Have the same problem synonymous, but no solution.
Edit from Mod: posting from the thread
Antwort von Markus:
What exactly have you been tested (and how)?
Here are some clues:
Antwort von Bernd E.:
... PC (Win XP SP2) ... recognizes the camera ... Since the PC1 in this respect hardly likely to behave differently than any other MiniDV camcorder, the solution should be found here:

SP2 is already a good start for debugging ;-)

Antwort von Stallforce:
Does the IEEE interface, anyway?
Is the camera in the right mode?
Antwort von Stallforce:
@ Guest: That's it. Thanks for the hint! IEEE 1394 has been disabled in bios.
@ Bernd: Interesting link. Thank you for that. If I then times really a problem with firewire should have, I know where I can see.
