Several cartridges tested. All the bad with equal representation and errors!

Device only been about "7 cassettes in use"! Contamination is unlikely, unless you have already dubbed the 7 cartridges per 100x. ;-)
Do you still have warranty? - Then reclaim the device!

Perhaps one of the tapes had a manufacturing defect? I just MiniDV tapes here that a customer in his camcorder can not play. One of the tapes has dirty band edges and the sets occasionally the video heads. After cleaning it and running again for a moment.
Perhaps the video heads were dirty and the dirt has been solved again? - Observe the times!
