Infoseite // SonyHDR CX11 - AVCHD files on Mac os x cut!

Frage von daca1315:

Hi,

I have become a mass s.Beiträgen forums read in the AVCHD format problem in terms of editing programs on Mac OS X related. However, I have no problem with my help!
My Camera: SonyHDR CX11, memory AVCHD to Memory Stick.
I would edit the files with the extension. MPG on my
MacBookPro under OS X 10.4. With Voltaic, I can not convert the files. The Camera is on the Voltaic Page not synonymous as kompartibles model listed. I've been two months since the Camera and not even something on the computer can watch.
Can a software allowing me to convert MPG files that I have on my Mac can see or edit?

Hopefully I can be of further help. Thanks in advance.

My Recommendation:
Hau thee Vista on the record and edit your AVCHD videos in the windows world with Vegas or Edius NEO MVS 9 Platinum!

Boot Camp should not be a problem yes, I hope. :)

@ Daniel

The Mac should have the camera already "see" if you have a USB connection.
If he can not see, is probably the included Sony software to install.
From Final Cut Pro or iMovie, FCE or synonymous then the files of the camera directly into the Mac to play on, with the content then either AIC or ProRes422 (depending on the program) will be converted.
The content is then on the Mac to edit it.
Apple dominates currently no AVC codec. Probably only with the OS update (Snow Leopard).
Generally, however, you should, without much trouble Content from the camera into one of the programs over to play.

Mal ganz ehrlich: AVCHD on the Mac is very painful. With the import takes infinitely long. I would be synonymous to the proposed solution of RickyMartini guessing. My preference would be Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9 - so you can AVCHD files without transcoding in real-time processing (eg, on a current MacBook with 2.4 GHz).

Because I give you are absolutely right ....
Apple lags "are now more than a year later .... and has long, of current PC Solutions disconnected.
Unless you are using hardware that does not belong to Apple (NVIDIA) and software, which is also nothing to do with Apple has (Adobe CS4) ... then it runs the synonymous sense.
But Final Cut Pro and the "intermediate crutch" is more than an affront.

It's been so bad proposal because I am guaranteed not to Vista and corresponding video solutions for Vista to buy, just so I have a few AVCHD videos can be cut. I admit that transcoding is a suboptimal solution, but it is not impossible. I personally think it's still better than the constant need to switch OS just because you now what will intersect. Especially as I get my workflow so synonymous to a completely different program must adapt.

WoWu has been right, Apple should slow times in the Slippers come what AVCHD is concerned, however, I can well imagine that such a switch in a program like Final Cut Pro, which is completely based on Quicktime, just not trivial and it is not as small fix for the current version is done.

@ daca1315:
Toast 9 is also AVCHD file transcode streams.

I use Parallels WinXP, together with a license of an old notebook. The AVCHD-cutting is so much better then that is absolutely worth the effort. Synonymous, I'm no Windows fan, but you do sometimes see the reality. If today I AVCHD material to process, I can not refer to a nice solution of Apple wait times have not yet announced.

I personally feel transcoding not a show stopper. I used to tape in real time of "captured", which was at least as stressful. And I think with ProRes 422 can be much more pleasant than working with AVCHD source material (such as ProRes can be reduced in Resolutionim cut window much faster decoded, etc.).

And I can continue on my preferred operating system platform with my favorite editing program to work, but happy to take it all in Purchase.
