Frage von fragenüberfragen:Hello,
I have before, a small event (dance performance with music on the sound) to film. Since I am by my internal Micro (Canon XH-A1) was not yet excited, I have an external Microphone done (Beyerdynamic MCE72 CAM). So, my question is whether the expected sound quality when recording on a portable MiniDisc recorder ( "old cucumber", but with mic input ... Sharp MD-MT190) is better than recording on the microphone input of the XH-A1?
Is it better, the sound of an external microphone to record minidisc or better yet directly on the? I feel it is about quality, not the possible difficulties in sync with the picture.
Thank you in advance in advance,
Edi

In your case I would tend to, because it has balanced inputs and disturbances so that you the microphone cable can be largely avoided. Requires that the connection is made via XLR and do not have any jack adapter cable.
The weak point of most simple recording devices is their Microphone Preamplifier - and how this applies to both external recorder. I can not imagine that an old MD recorder preamplifier provides better than an actual - though certainly not synonymous this represents the optimum. Optimally, it is only with external recorders beyond the 500 euros, or halt with a separate Microphone Preamplifier; latter allows that you see or MD recorder to the input line can use.
More important than all the equipment-quality issues is also the establishment of the microphone (as close as possible s.der sound source).

Why do not you combining both.
I amche following: External Micro -> Camera -> Camera AV output -> input micro-MD recorder.
Best Sound in addition to still MiniDisk or an alternative device

So I would also take both, but then this:
Micro -> Camera
Sound of the event -> MD recorder (Line-In) Did you naturally with the sound short-circuited.

Thanks for the helpful answers. I try wede, the sound mixer to record to MD and the MCE72 (EMX72 see other thread) s.die Camera connected.
In search of a cable to the mic XLR inputs s.die the XH-A1 will be added (had only one mini-jack to get included), I only found this (http://www.thomann.de/de/beyerdynamic_mvk_82_ncm_fuer_mce_72_05.htm).
However, costs 50EUR for almost half a meter (longer synonymous, there is a favorable example of Pro Snake, but I would like to 0.3-0.5 m. ..)
Can someone randomly in a more favorable source for the 0.3-0.5 m long cable split of 5pin Female to 2x 3pin male? Or can I in such a short distance synonymous safely 5pin on the included stereo mini-jack cable (0.35 m), without interference to receive?
Thanks and regards,
Edi

After what I have read Music Service, is because Micro symmetrich not, then could synonymous take the jack cable and simply plug into a.
Cheaper come off as, by you own soldering.
Just when Thomann order the correct cable and even a 5 pin jack and two 3 Pin Male and a bit of cable (and thanks to the expensive cable Beyer Dynamics of haste synonymous reached the minimum order).
Then you measure when the original cable and solder Pin Configuration in accordance with the times so you together.
Last send you the original cable back again s.Thomann (; is about 40 euros, so it cost nothing to send back).
Is now not the stylish, but 50 euros for it to take a cable is synonymous something dreißt.

Is now not the subtle kind, No, this is truly not the fine art and need not be synonymous, because the assignment of XLR connectors manufacturer is standardized across the pins and numbers:
3-pin XLR 1 = ground
2 = signal hot
3 = signal cold
XLR 5-pin 1 = ground
2 = signal hot - left
3 = signal cold - left
4 = signal hot - right
5 = signal cold - right
PS: I just read * that the MCE 72 CAM in fact has only unbalanced outputs (pin 3 and 5 are blank). In order to have symmetric transmission, would be the Model MCE 72 PV CAM required.
Then in this case is worth the purchase of a XLR cable purely for quality reasons not. Only the reliability of the connection would increase because XLR Male sit better than Jack.
