Frage von Steppenwolf:Hi everyone!
I'm only half a year ago came to DV editing - we have a team s.unserer school and small projects. On the computer running Project Premiere Pro (2.0) and After Effects 7th So I know both programs so far that I can serve them well. Now there is a calculator for home purchase, I tend strongly to send me an Apple iMac zuzulegen. On this calculator, I would like synonymous my (private) video editing projects, iMovie is to me, however limited and so the question arises as to whether I continue with Premiere (the would then PPro for Mac) or equal in Final Cut should invest. Why the latter, if I am already familiar in PPro will you be asking? So far, I have much more positive about Final Cut Pro and heard that it is much more logical structure would be, etc. I would not stop on the wrong horse set (if it is the wrong horse there:) My question would be,
- It comes with Final Cut Pro, quite rightly, if one of PPro coming?
- What are the fundamental differences between the two programs?
- Or maybe stay in PPro, why?
The questions can be answered rather people who know both systems or even change a system have?
Thank you for your decision help!
Greetings from Hildesheim on Steppenwolf (Wolfgang)

APP Who knows, comes in Final Cut Pro quickly navigate, and vice versa. The Adobe suite is significantly more expensive than FC Studio. With the latter, however, still lacks Photoshop,
but not the Intel version, I come to cope well with 7.0 (although the improved tools are already an argument). Even then of course you have not yet AAE (the counterpart is called Shake, but it has an unusual interface and is available only in English). Motion and LiveType covers many features of AAE from, but are totally different way. For DVD Studio Pro Encore is again not fully substitute.
Pros on Adobe: Photoshop and AAE.
Pros at FCS: Final Cut Pro and that the operating system and applications are one.
Antwort von Steppenwolf:
Thank you for the first statement. That reminds me, what I find the language versions would ask. I assume that synonymous Final Cut Pro is available in German (or is it generally a multi-language version?). If only English, it would be synonymous not a KO criterion.
In principle, I intend to mainly cut, animations, etc. is rather the exception (may be growing but with increasing enthusiasm:). How is that possible with an integration of AAE in FinalCut, there are interfaces (similar to Adobe Dynamic Link in the package)?
Antwort von Axel:
How is that possible with an integration of AAE in FinalCut, there are interfaces (similar to Adobe Dynamic Link in the package)? Normally you have the clip from Final Cut Pro export and import in AAE again. If you want a seamless integration, you need
Automatic Duck, and of course that costs extra. As you come into
this For pure Shake compositing is at least as good. You get it used for half of Automatic Duck. Motion also can do much.
For you it might be the best, Final Cut Pro to test somewhere. Up to Color (in package) and Shake (not included in package) are all synonymous to German.
Antwort von Akira:
the basic keyboard commands are different, but the manual is on the APP in Final Cut Pro redenominate. Before the course even Final Cut Pro for APP, although I APP synonymous with good work.
Antwort von Akira:
Final Cut Pro still has a beneficial aufm mac, the windows are free, nd not vie with APP in a large window, so it is easier with 2 screens to work synonymous verschiedengroßen.
Antwort von Akira:
for compositing is available for motion and Final Cut Pro plugins, similar to shake a "Nodal compositor" have only nnicht with all the features of shake, about this with GPU support.

The only question is where can I put this to the test:) The Gravis Store Final Cut Pro did not install - but I can demand times. A bit of trial & error, I would like to have before I Supplements. A sort of trial version, there is probably not, right?
Btw, it could be that Final Cut Pro only as Final Cut Studio is available? I can shop at the Apple version, not single:-O And FCS is not selectablly Language (in store) - I assume then that there is only one version Mulitlanguage as a package?
Antwort von Akira:
There are only Final Cut Studio 2
Antwort von PowerMac:
Final Cut Studio (2) is essentially multilingual. You can at any time in all the different languages change. Only the printed manual is included in the local language.
Final Cut Pro is not alone to buy. Fortunately! What we as free programs to get s.geilen (Motion, Color, Soundtrack ...), I do not want to miss. These are not Kack-Prorgamme to halt supplied, but Programs, even earlier cost money. Color, for example, has before it as of Apple purchased Final Touch has up to 5000 euros and has only s.Anwender professional color correction turned! That is just so with it. DVD Studio Pro is also worthwhile. Is not as good as Sonic, which costs 30,000 euros, but at least the second best program for DVD creation on this planet. But just as Sonic to use and better than Adobe Encore. With the new motion, you can breeze into a State Width s.Effekten create and compositing. It is not as much as After Effects, but it will not. In the everyday life of the TV production, the program is quite the hit. So fast you get no animations or even abdominal bandages elsewhere. And so next.

Thank you for your statements. It seems in any case, no fault to be on the new (Mac) Platform for FCS to set. If a bar is doing so more coal, but more favorable than EDU version but probably worth the investment. One last question, there is recommended reading, beginner trainings (or Switch-training), video tutorials? I would like to speed as quickly as possible, because I have some projects for this year would like to check off.

Wool. I have with the books from the Galileo Verlag all appropriated programs. You have, however, provide a basis by Premiere, which should suffice to call in a (base, etc.) to explain what to do. Apple programs are extremely easy to learn. After such a "Very-Quick-Start Guide" reads a 500-page book (1000 pages or the manual) as much more relaxed.

If you are in your working group will work with Premiere, why do you want to buy you a Macsystem. So superior to the Mac with Final Cut Pro to the PC with Premiere not. I work synonymous with Mac, but know synonymous premiere. If I had the choice would be the first preference will be given to the clips from the synonymous Working at home can be processed.

Antwort von Steppenwolf:
Hello Thomas,
in the Association, we work with Premiere, but these projects are the pure in school. I would therefore take no homework, but as I mentioned in my posting had written input, mostly my own (ie private) projects. And since I will soon have a Mac up, I would like to take this opportunity to me, "my system" and since I build the software (Premiere or Final Cut Pro) always need to buy new, is nunmal the decision on what I long would like to set. The reputation of Final Cut Pro is undoubtedly better than PPro and what my (few) know Apple Programs, speaks more for Apple products. With FCS, I have a lot less money for a complete suite - in contrast to the CS3 suite. Ok, if I have to buy Photoshop (because it is must for me), I still remain below the suite price.
I buy myself a Mac, because I am now convinced that he clearly is the better system (compared to XP or Vista) on OSX and is much more intuitive work is possible. And a few have fewer worries (viruses, stability ..);)
You have a Mac, do you work so synonymous with Final Cut Pro?
Gruss wool.

We have in our company just the latest IMAC 2.4 GHz with 2GB RAM s.testen.
For DV editing, I can not recommend it because the hard drive is pretty lame. For uncompressed video editing is the thing scrap, but at least schick ;-). MacPro would be better! HDD Raid system!
Final Cut Pro is not really intuitive than APP. Rather reversed. And unfortunately that is the unanimous opinion in our company.
We are of the Final Cut Pro package has converted to Adobe.
If you are well familiar with APP, Then you have the QT Pro and you can operate all the major formats.
I work with Macs and Windows machines and unfortunately OSX is not better (more stable) than Windows. Software depends, systems crash, check for updates is much more unstable than before. Apple has apparently a lot of M $ abgeschaut. So both sides have advantages and disadvantages.
A mix of both OS would be the perfect OS.
But with an Intel Mac, you can drive both systems and that is a huge plus for a MAC!
But my opinion is subjective! Try ...

On an iMac, uncompressed video editing;) Two tracks, the record, yes, but more of course not. This is a consumer-synonymous Calculator. Remedy creates a Firewire 800-plate.
