Frage von cpufrank:Video Dear Friends,
first thank you for the great tips in the forum.
I voted last week my Videocam (an NV-GS320) get. It was my first Cam. Everything was super, great pictures ... but then I wanted the videos to the PC. My Asus board has a firewire port (Realtec chip) on board, but I had never been tested. So Firewire enabled in the BIOS, boot to XP (with SP2) to install the drivers for you. Then off Calculator. Cable (good quality) on it and Cam connected. Calculator boot, Cam on.
Then (Lechz) Soft start at the videos on capture ..... Other ... Disillusionment. no video device found. Whether enclosed soft, magix video or WinDV. So here .... S.Problemen masses (and solutions).
I've patched my XP SP2 uninstalled. Nothing! Cam is not found.
Then the second round:
Since I no cable, no other and no other Cam Calculator with Firewire it had been difficult.
From red to the big market and a firewire PCI card (VIA chipset) and Another good cable purchased. Knoppix downloaded.
So new tests ...
Cable exchange -> No success, Cam not found
PCI (VIA) card inside -> no success
Knoppix boot shell and with experimental Capture Tools -> no success
Other disk into the PC and Win98, as well as old XP SP1 installed -> no success
After I Cable, 1394 port, OS remained could exclude only the CAM. I have today reported the return and ask for the exchange.
This forum gave me this valuable and really helpful tips and suggestions (especially on XP SP2).
Let's see how it goes next ...
Greeting

Cam on
Other .... new hardware found!
All Programs accessed correctly on the Panasonic too.
So for me it was definitely a faulty port on DV Cam.
Many greetings from the cold and gray NRW

I tremble now.
Have two sony hc 47 had 'both, I have no connection (i link) pc to get the stupid greed and market-tested, this is not synonymous signal. now I have ordered the panasonic 320 and pray that this is, at first I thought that my connection to fire ware schrottet cams but I have of my father, the cam (sony synonymous bit older but I dv output) tried, since everything is running 100 percent. on the hard disk ran the first vcr cam synonymous only a short time later, not more.

The Firewire chips (like almost all electronic devices) are very sensitive to static electricity. The wrong shoes, the wrong carpet - das wars and even now I use an electric static wristband for 10 ¬, in order to avoid this.
MFG Peter

The handle to the metal casing of a PC also provides remedies, but you have the habit knits.
