Today I gained the Panasonic NV-GS500. Unfortunately, you can not install the included USB Drivers for Windows XP. Radioed to the notebook, but there I do not need it.

USB 1.4 does not exist.
Standards are USB 1.1 and USB 2.0, although only the latter is suitable for your camcorder. 1.1 is too slow.

Your calculator should actually complain that a USB device is plugged in, which supports USB 2.0, but s.einem was connected 1.1.

A note on the motherboard would not be bad, then you could check whether any USB 2.0 ports are available.
