If you want to still try to stick it out, now try the following:
You afraid of the Ulead DVD MovieFactory for relatively little money, a trial version you can you can even at a flat rate for 0 load on the Download Page.
The DVD MovieFactory is not necessarily synonymous importfreudig and wants to re-encode everything. As it is now with imported DVDs really behaving, I can not tell you because I do not use this option.
However, it should be a tolerable working order possible.
