Frage von DunkelHut:Hello together,
I have a question about the.
MKV - Matroska file format.
http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matroskahttp://www.matroska.org/index.html.de What it is and how I use it on the calculator can play the I am aware. It turns me but the question how to use these files on an external device can play.
I know The devices support only FAT32 and there is the maximum size of a file with 4GB defined.
Now, these files are not infrequently larger 8GB.
OK, I could only split it makes no sense synonymous as the Plaze in general do not. MKV format support.
These high-resolution video files are now always on the notebook or PC to look now so probably makes no sense.
How in the world because it is now with these files if they are on an external device wants to play?
I'm really curious to the answers.
Thanks s.euch of DunkelHut

Matroska is a great format, but my knowledge is only supported s.PC and then synonymous only of a few programs (such as VLC). Devices (DVD players or so), the Matroka support, I do not know. Possibly yes It's one of the so-called multimedia hard ... Because I must, but with detailed knowledge of fit.
The incompatibility of Matroska synonymous was probably the reason why the DivX with DivX container once the wheel has invented (they have aufgebohrt AVI). These files are usually easy to play, however, synonymous only as a normal film. The embedded subtitles and menus only recognizes the DivX Player s.PC.

Hi!
Just then, then you will find synonymous devices that support <0B@QH:0:
http://www.google.de/products?q=mkv + xvid
or
http://www.google.de/products?q=vorbis + mka
But as you can see, is not only the Kontainerformat crucial synonymous but the content - ie the codec.
That is, if the player is MKV extract, it must not necessarily synonymous format video / audio format can decode.

Just then, then you will find synonymous devices that support <0B@QH:0: Thanks for the hint. Arg is a lot but not ... As I already mentioned: The mass of DivX-compatible (probably the preferred codec for Matroksa, but of course not necessarily) DVD Players and other video player can not cope with Matroska - unfortunately.
But as you can see, is not only the Kontainerformat crucial synonymous but the content - ie the codec. That is so even for beginners with AVIs or Quicktime a bad case ...
