I just try my old VHS collection into a digital format to bring ...

Is there a MPEG2 encoder / codec of Inexpensive or free and is on my hardware Picture and Sound in "real time" Capture
it? # #
WHY I question: The source material is most old and of poor quality!
I expect from the digital output does not improve, do not want to spend hours on the result of various filter wait .... it should be simple to DVD / SCVD! AND must be based on a simple - not DivX - DVD Players to be playable!
The hardware:
My TV card (yes yes no A / D converter ...) is a Terratec Cinergy 400 TV. My Calculator is an AMD Athlon XP-M at 2:26 GHz (3200 +), 512 MB and IDE disk.
The Software:
The software of Terratec and matching with current WDM Drivers.
The codec problem: Among the "hundreds" of codecs on my calculator is not a simple task to be achieved ....

Huffyuv to SVCD Does the resolution on my calculator. The CPU is not loaded but the record is s.Limit and s.Ende are 32GB for 90 minutes on the plate. That can no longer my TMPGEnc process / opening - breaks s.da the

Preferably I would
mpeg2 codec vfw than I do on my hardware for capturing use. Is there something? What is the cost of the codec?

Lt. Manual you can with your card in all popular modes (DVD, SVCD, VCD, Divx, etc) at a time.
There seems to be in the correct installation and handling any problems.

Hi,
probably is the Main Concept MPEG2 Encoder in Ulead Movie Distillery (older versions such as the V 2, for example with pearl squandered). With my 1,8 Ghz CPU is so easy-with reduced image quality in real-encode. SVCD, I would, however, avoided because of bad quality. That brings in my experience only good results in 2-pass procedure with the very slow TMPEG encoder.

TMPGEnc breaks s.oder TMPGEnc You break after x min. from?
TMPGEnc, at least in the version in which I actually needed at that time used a small eternity before it after launching a larger file (yes, synonymous with DV) again "responsive" was.
Open times but an AVI in TMPGEnc and start the task manager. As long as the memory usage of TMPGEnc or modify, it has not yet versbschiedet, synonymous if there is "no feedback". Patience times you follow a few minutes and the memory consumption.

The software my card should actually be able to .... but only with low resolution .... Simply because the codecs of Windows (vfw) used ....
TMPGEnc Pros (2.5) breaks down after "hours" with a simple error message .... in the time of the task simply counts the bytes read up - the RAM requirements will remain at about 17MB ... then comes the message ... with 10GB files goes without problems but then I Stückeln the film and cut ...
- Let's see if I have the mpeg2 codec from the distillery get Ulead Movie ....

SVCD is my alternative, because of the DVD data rate and quantity of my plate not tolerate .... and a codec which the shrink to fit, I've still not found .... the result is 3.5MBit a DVD of MPEG2 hard to distinguish times and see my raw material .... "If garbage goes gold never comes out "!!!!
- The A / D converters are used to price of 49, - per week ... because everything I do in addition, I will probably need a couple of weeks .... since then I buy but rather a "DVD Recorder" out of the box ....
