Frage von videody:The Servicepack2 for Windows XP drivers from an exchange, with my older Canon MV20-Camera not cope.
The issue has been addressed several times and different solutions offered.
By following the instructions, I have reinstalled the old drivers:
The SP2.CAB file in the directory c: \ windows \ driver cache \ i386 for the duration of the changes to rename, eg SP2.ALT.
The Driver.cab file with double click the backup file contained in the AVC.SYS of
Directory c: \ windows \ system32 \ dllcache and c: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers copy.
The following messages, the Windows XP CD, cancel.
The entry was still with a yellow exclamation mark, as appropriate. In order to eliminate re-open the file Driver.cab
and the safeguarding of MSDV.SYS in the directory c: \ windows \ system32 \ dllcache and c: \ windows \ system32 \ drivers copy.
CD-call again to cancel. Do not forget: The renaming of file SP2.CAB undo it.
After recording the work with my camera again properly.
Now to my problem. The above procedure, I have on my old calculator in Windows XP Service Pack 2 made.
Now I have a new calculator with Microsoft XP (SP 2) and Media Center Edition.
I find the backup file AVC.SYS not listed above and the dllcache directory does not!
Can someone help me here, how can I reinstall the old drivers and where?

Moin,
Windows Media Center Edition is technically the same as XP Home or XP Professional. Only a few additional functions are available, so that almost functionally identical MCE with XP Pro. Under the hood, everything is the same sauce ;-)
Look, whether you are in MCE synonymous have administrator rights. The admin is incidentally not car all right, but only the right to give these rights to!
If there is, in windows/system32/dllcache trying to reach via the command line (Run: [code: 1: ea2ace15cd] cmd [/ code: 1: ea2ace15cd], then [code: 1: ea2ace15cd] cd / [/ code: 1: ea2ace15cd], [code: 1: ea2ace15cd] cd windows/system32/dllcache [/ code: 1: ea2ace15cd] and then [code: 1: ea2ace15cd] dir [/ code: 1: ea2ace15cd], replace "/" by the right Backslash - here in the forum does not). Most of the Explorer to view "hidden" directories after the installation is hidden (default). The list should be but in any case - that it is in every version of XP.

Many thanks for the info.
Have the settings under Control Panel / Folder Options so changed that I could see everything.
Then I have two old files (AVC.SYS and MSDV.SYS) in dieVerzeichnisse 'Drivers' and' dllcache 'copied.
the result was unfortunately without success. When you capture with MS Movie Maker, I still only NTSC offered.
Then I looked again the versions of the files are viewed and lo and behold, the file had MSDV.SYS again the new version (5.3.2600.2180) even though I have the file with the old version was 5.1.2600.2180 overwritten.
Then I have the system monitored again. Under the directory C: \ Windows \ i386 \ SP2.CAB this new version is still available. I have not been able to write about.
Has anyone a solution for this - how can I get the system the old version of MSDV.SYS under slide?

Hi,
the files are protected by the System File Protection is protected, this can be an already crazy driving :-)
Try this:
http://www.winexperts.de/tweaks.asp?status=2&ID=81&content=Abschalten% 20des% 20'System% 20File% 20Protection ' But be careful, whatever you are in the registry change is effective immediately, without saving synonymous ...

My proposal, therefore, ignore the tip and let it like it is.
