Frage von breitfeld:Hello!
Have a SonyHDR-HC5E and now search for a way the data on my MacBook to get. Unfortunately, just when Apple MacBookPro a Firewire port and the only small 2USB Connections.
Now my question: Is there a possibility the data differently than synonymous with Firewire to transfer?
Is there a way firewire to convert to USB (for external device, cable ...)
Or can I watch the videos, perhaps directly to an external hard drive transfer?
Thank you for your answers
Antwort von RickyMartini:
Without Firewire, you will no videos on the book can be transferred.
For the apple but surely there must be a Firewire adapter as accessories, because Apple is still the author of Firewire!

While it is sad and even for a confirmed Apple fan does not understand, but with the absence of Firewire Connections are the new MacBooks for working with D8, DV - and HDV camcorders (and some other devices) have become unusable.

... can this work? ... Certainly not. The dealer even writes: "Attention: The firewire cable converts signals into USB signals, but only works if the camera via the Firewire output synonymous USB can send signals." A Camera, which can probably only need to be invented yet ...
There exist about this issue quite a number of threads here in the forum, and if I remember correctly, there is a manufacturer of (Pixela?) A cable with electronics, allegedly actually convert Firewire to USB can be. However, I have met no one who has tested this cable - and the price is around 100 euros.
EDIT: This cable, I had meant:

Seems, however - if ever - only under Windows to work.
