+ g You do not need Eigendlich Entstaucher ;-).... but only the proper format.
The first thing is I have to ask, why in the world of HD on DVD? Since you steal you but a lot s.Qualität (mpeg2) and Resolution.
Recording of a camcorder?
If so, then take in the future if for a normal DVD will come of it, just to the right format (720x576) ...
For your current problem would only help a re~isér. The heist, of converting the format now available on the right (720x576) ...
Maybe you can tell us some more details, then it is easier to help a targeted way. So you can only post general to do so.

For example, a G5 2x2 does not seem so well suited for video editing to be ... what is it there only?

That with the "Human Giant", if a distorted picture is meant, sounds familiar. You work with professional tools, but apparently not yet know the ABCs of digital Videobarbeitung, no offense. As a tip for learning of Final Cut Pro, I recommend the same book from the publisher of Galileo, Andreas Zerr, since it stands beside the patient explanation of the basics synonymous as a useful workflow described. Want anyway Resolutionbleiben in SD, then the material already considered synonymous import DV Pal, not as HDV, of course, if it is of an HDV cam, synonymous with the default "16:9 anamorphic.
@ Bruno: G5 not as suitable for video editing? The award of the malicious misunderstood virtuoso, who with his envy to the Billigfiedel Beginners with the Stradivarius squints ;-)
