The two should be together and the best aspects of both formats combine the physical disk of Blu-Ray, and the better software features of HD DVD. But that will never make.

I have had to protest a DVD player bought, only because all these video cassettes klapprigen dirty led. Betamax went under due to porn and dirty shops.
I'm glad that this time it apparently went the other way around.
And the list of Toshiba, that much more play equipment for HD-DVD in the households, I can not quite believe it. After all, almost twice as many BDs sold. I think they have schönfärberisch the PS3 as a BD player removed from the statistics.
PS: I have players for both formats. Bin with BlueRay much happier. My Toshiba EX1 falls steadily - stopping at every third, coils, etc. The PS3 is since March 2007 not a single crash times, neither BD or any other applications. If I had known this summer that is now synonymous leaving Warner (reasonably), would I do not HD-DVD player purchased.
