Your requirements - including those from the other thread - are unfortunately almost impossible to bring under one umbrella: MiniDV is the consumer area, have close to extinction and the last survivors of either no possibility to connect an external microphone, or are above your budget.
Apparently, in this class has only the Canon MD110 microphone input, but strangely lacks the headphone jack: So you do not have pitch control during the recording, which is synonymous again an absurdity. And as for lowlight, I see black on this model ...
Information and the test pictures and videos of many camcorders you will find the way to www.videoaktiv.de. Maybe you so some of it helps with your decision. With a SonyHC96 you were probably well served, but it is a matter of luck, a good second-hand catch on: it is no longer available new.

But what do "consumer" then, mini-dv's already the most sensible if human wants to cut it, right??
