Hi All, I have to decide between the Canon XM2 (DV) or the SonyFX1 (HDV). I am still working with many old pictures of biografieën. Have at present a 1chip camcorder and would like to expand the hobby of shooting. What am I to now grow in the future, HDV or DV? Can you help me with the decision?

If you have a powerful calculator that is small change there and a HD ready because device is, in any case, the SonyFX1.
MiniDV is still 5-10 years to keep on villeicht stable, but in the end will be bgelöst PAL, most likely of HD (T) V.

I'd go on regardless of the question for DV or HDV FX-1. There you'll find for my taste, just a much better handling in general and for the manual handling of focus, Aperture and so on.
And, with HDV you build a little before for the future. If you still need to DV, you can be a synonymous of the FX1 HDV runterkonvertieren twisted tapes.
