Does this mean now that you can write without synonymous P2 card to the disk (via Firewire), or you still need a P2 card, which then writes the data on the fly on the plate.

I honestly do not know. I guess that it's like the FS-4. You CAN write both simultaneously, but not necessarily. Is only a guess.
