Frage von JMitch:Hey,
I have a question regarding a digitization project. I have about 4 hours of uncompressed DV material, which as few as possible on video DVDs (only one?) Should be (ie as with the menu and so for viewing). Which should I choose Compression (audio / video) if I am both a quality as possible, and finds that synonymous maximum compatibility regarding DVD player (or is that no preference?)?
And if necessary, with what tool. had it with Ulead VS 7.0 to make ..
Thank you in advance for your help.

Four hours of video on a DVD to try to save, but with restrictions and compromises linked. A better compatibility, the single-layer DVD, but this can be achieved no more good quality. The Double Layer DVD-turn, offers more storage capacity, but there are more DVD players problematic than the SL-DVD.
My Tip: create two SL DVDs. The run is safer than a DL DVD and have a better quality than a single SL-DVD.

So four hours on a single-layer DVD, as is expected of a quality hardly talk. Even on a dual-layer DVD schrammt already s.der border.
At 2000 kbit / s you are allowed at around 3.6 GB of DVD on your land, plus a few hundred MB for sound and menu.
However, in 2000 kbit / s hardly even watch worth.
Better: Double / Dual Layer DVD, 4000 kb / s VBR taste, sound AC3 or MPEG with 224kbit / s or less coding. Preferring simple DVD menu. And then good luck!
