Frage von Dizi:Moin,
I will study s.dem winter s.der KISD in Cologne design. Design is there nich separated by discipline, which means I'll arbeitren in all fields (visual communication, media design, production design, etc.).
I have before me for studying zuzulegen a MacBook. As a Newbie in terms of Mac, however, I have no idea what is the right one for me. So I do not needlessly spend too much money, because I simply out of ignorance, "the best" buy, I need your recommendation.
I'm assuming that working with audio-visual media requires the most resources, therefore it is of probably the best if we orient ourselves in it.
One megabyte is sufficient for DV editing from, animation and compositing, or there must be a MBP be?
How much Arbeitsspecier recommends it, how much processing power?
Which hard drive - speed vs.. Capacity?
How big the monitor be?
What bothers me with my PC, that the grudsätzlich to its knees if I have several Programs simultaneously opened.
I also want to come wärend studies with the MB to make ends meet, so it should withstand minestens the next 4 years.
What can you recommend me? Thanks for any thoughts.
Antwort von PowerMac:
The smallest ranges. 13 "widescreen is okay. At home you just put off a cheap LCD and you have two monitors so. The disk with 60 GB is pretty small. But I would upgrade it later with a full purse a external firewire disk. Eg 250 MB or so I know the MacBook, and it's really very cheap for the price. completely from Performance + features + Design + Weight + battery life + operating system + Front Row + iSight + feel + Pro-Apps forth the best for the price. And it goes on Requirements Windows on it ... Look into the current C't. There is a brief comparison with Windows laptops.
Here is what is Studis to 992 Euro + Free Bag:

If you subtract nor the VAT (Papa's company, etc.), which is sau cheap. Incidentally, with the least expensive Core Duo notebook! Comparison views with (ugly, heavy) PC laptops.
I would still buy 2x 1 GB of RAM to the two times you'll get for around 65 euros. Then the thing is sauschnell ... Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, Motion and Shake, even you can run on it as well ...
Show times are you exactly in a Gravis store!

Hello
But since the forum Hardwareluxx otherwise gelsen the WinXP to run out GOOD. There is no s.Treibern for the hardware that said one of the forum. Perhaps she sees herself mal rein.

Show times are you exactly in a Gravis store! That's where I was today. However, I have a 15-inch MBP 2.16 GHz placed with 1.5 GB of memory and mind to his heart. That seemed to me synonymous latest makes sense as there was an HD movie played on a MB and has geruckelt the rather nasty.
Are the MacBooks as synonymous for 3D renderings and similar games?
Antwort von Axel:
... there as an HD movie was played on a MB and the rather nasty geruckelt has ... That are better for the HD MBps - as ever - is clear. For SD, the MBs are not only small enough, they even have a lot of reserves. As for the multiple Geöffnetlassen Programs: When Final Cut Pro renders and DSP while burning a DVD, then it might still be too much. Mail, Word, Safari and consorts: No problem.
Because we are burning: A SuperDrive is not bad ...
Antwort von PowerMac:
I can not imagine that the HD movie really geruckelt. I have other experiences ... H.264 1080p @ 30 class was scaled s.klein MacBook ...

I am surprised others here and synonymous in a forum the MacBook is recommended. I always thought that for a normal notebook user, in order to manage writing for the Internet, photos, and post-process, etc. That will not be a problem, cut the Holiday movie to me is synonymous clear.
I do not want to spend my 4 years (or render 3D animation) thesis and then wait for the most time with, possibly because there was new software that has higher demands s.The resources. With the Gravis nice seller said that the MB is in this case it s.seinen limits.

You answer your own questions that current applications will realize more or less the current possible hardware resources to be clear. In render-intensive applications such as 3D animations, etc. Processor power is the decisive criterion. Will you still four years to secure future for an eternity () with computers, I recommend more classical G5 Powermac.

My impression has always been, is that
"possibly new software" just a Mac has a better chance of good performance than with a PC system case.
I wonder, to quote you, that synonymous Apple's smallest package before the eyes of potential PC users who are changing with more superlatives must be measured from the Windows world.
Purchase a small notebook you yet that meets these requirements at this price. I can's no preference.
Antwort von Dizi:
Replace Maybe I should have mentioned nopch that the Notebok - no preference what it is - my desktop PC is. He's already 6 to 7 years old and has thus met its target.
So I need a portable calculator with größmöglicher performance.
If I could afford it financially to me, I would buy myself, of course, immediately a Powermac, but it is now and probably not auh while studying there.
Antwort von Axel:
Then, quite honestly, is a MB too little for you. And MBP, perhaps too expensive? Have you ever thought s.Finanzierung? With "Apple Care", a kind of additional insurance beyond the normal warranty and warranty beyond what was actually a sure thing.
At least, if you your loyalty to your hardware is intact. About 6 years!
Antwort von Dizi:
The financing is no problem. At least until I buy only a calculator, but I did odd jobs in the last six months telephone studio;)
I just want to spend no more money than necessary. The $ 1,000 difference of one megabyte for a 17 "MBP is a lot of money, if I have the synonymous 1000 eggs a good laptop worth.
Antwort von PowerMac:
The MacBook is not too slow. This thing has all the top models as well as a Core Duo! The only slow the graphics card. But that is not slow!

That is not correct. Holiday movies? Edit Photos? Nonsense! It lets you cut very well HDV or DVCPRO HD. As fast as on a G5. Part faster (!). Look at these benchmarks to:

Motion, DVD Studio Pro or Final Cut on it because all run very well. Motion is not running because of the graphics card so dolle, but good enough. If you do extremely animation or compositing, THEN take the Pro. Otherwise not. I know VD students, who may be considered the MacBook synonymous.
It is synonymous Cinebench scores, which show the performance for 3D rendering:
