Hello,
Digital8 tapes are for your Digital8 camcorder all right. But you can take synonymous Hi8 cassettes. I have even a D8 camcorder and get virtually the only Hi8 tapes. The cassettes are visually distinct only by the inscription.
zum Bild On eBay, I would not buy the tapes, however, when you right cartridge for a similar price (but will receive no extra costs) in each of greed-and Blödmarkt. ;-)

I have the same camera (Sony DCR TRV 255E)
if you want to do it as cheaply as possible you could only Hi8 and Digital 8 bands even take the good old bands standart 8th
the quality loss is very low.
