Infoseite // Which is better: 1GB DDR400 or 2.5 GB DDR333 RAM?

Frage von AndyZZ:

Now add synonymous, I ask the question:

I have on my Epox EP-8RDA an Athlon xp3000 + (400) with 200 MHz FSB (multiplier 11) as a XP3200 + to run. Wonderful. Previously, he was running with 2x256MB and 1x512MB DDR 333 Dual Channel synonymous very stable.
Now I've got two cheap Elixir 1024MB DDR400, unfortunately, only make the problems. May be that my board does not fully support the FSB: I can not stable with 1GB DDR400 (CL3.0, memory read throughput of almost 2800 MB / s) or with 2.5 GB DDR333 (CL2.5, memory throughput read about 2100 MB / s run). What brings me in the video holding more? What makes the operation more games?

Moin moin!

I would look at me in the motherboard manual time settings for the memory.
Here you should select a Hard FSB value, and not "AUTO" settings are available. Sit down to 333 for example, which should minimally functioning.

In Auto mode, the board apparently does not recognize these MINIMAL-way.

Antwort von AndyZZ:

Well, I have the FSB at 200 MHz. With an internal multiplier 11 for the AMD CPU I come to a stable 2200MHz. Since the RAM FSB now also available on FSB 200, I take this back to 83%. Then he has to run the 166 MHz and DDR 333 RAM as stable. As DDR 400 is only one with 1GB RAM module.
But once again:
Better 1 GB of DDR RAM with 400 or
better than 2 GB of RAM with DDR 333??

Thank you. Can I somehow objectively measure it? Memory read and write throughput is on DDR 400 of course higher, but if you need more RAM ... What can there Prgrammer measure the performance?
I currently Aida32 for the memory throughput speed.
