Frage von Sandra:Hello, I have just started synonymous with postprocess PowerDirector videos. That's quite fine. My question: if I want to burn a video on DVD, which is more appropriate, better - RW or + RW?
Thanks for your answers
Antwort von Markus:
Hi Sandra,
The rewritable DVD-RW or + RW is a good use if you want to test a more cumbersome project before the final burn to DVD-R s.Standalone-DVD player on the heart and kidneys. In this case, take the format with which your DVD player is easier to cope.
The subsequent DVD is usually a DVD-R (Cons-R), because this format was standardized by the DVD Forum, and every DVD player must support it.

Mark is basically right. But (yes, yes, that's why I'm writing the first of its kind ...):-generation DVD player (including any take-DVD player), neither DVD-R or DVD + R. Perhaps there are such devices in your environment and certainly not more ...

Hi All,
thank you for your quick responses. So I'll try to burn-RW disc - but what's really the difference with-R, or is it the same? Incidentally, still have no DVD player. Have you perhaps a purchase tip? I am talking mainly about being able to play most all formats. I think the whole area ziemlcih confusing. When one finally knows, then comes back determined something new. I would like some family videos of Hi8 digitize and archive later for my children - whether they are later able to watch once, then DVD or heard synonymous thing of the past?

Antwort von Markus:
Hi Sandra,
DVD-R / + R is writable only once, while DVD-RW / + RW theoretically erased and rewritten up to 1000x can be.
The issue of DVD is not nearly as easy as it would have us believe that advertising promises. The compatibility of burned DVDs is a big issue, the questionable durability to another. When are you about the archiving of video recordings at issue is the DVD is certainly not the optimum - to put it in positive times.

Antwort von Sandra:
Hi Mark,
Thank you for your tips, I've read a bit. If I understand correctly, you should also save his movies in MPEG format on CD to transfer it later, possibly on a different storage media to be able to. While additional work is, but which is worth to you.
Greetings, Sandra
Antwort von Markus:
Well, that with the additional storage on CD-ROM could be very labor intensive and s.Silberscheiben the mountains, given the amount of data to be stored somewhere synonymous. - Maybe an external hard drive is better suited for such purposes? ;-)

yes, that's true, thank you!

Synonymous exactly what I thought until recently ...
After about 80GB of the 160 were filled with shooting, the plate was no longer recognized. Have they expanded and plugged directly into the calculator.
It is not even longer recognized that it is formatted NTFS.
Conclusion: all the data gone!
This is called backup (;-))

Backup on "a" hard drive. Hust ... Yes, the topic can be expanded at will, and everyone needs to find "his" way - somewhere between money, space and security. ;-)

I really had not expected so precocious with proposals, but rather with an idea of how to make the NTFS format again without FORMAT.

hannes Who should be from the post that you read out need help?
Ontrack Easy Recovery.

Download the trial version. She says that the data could be saved. Then buy and save data. Is only a little more expensive than a backup with "two" hard disks.
How do I back up with hard disks
In my PC there are three hard disks.
1. 160GB data
2. Photos 250GB
3. Videos 250GB
For each built-in hard disk, there is an equal in a USB enclosure.
I get this every week from the "safe" ;-) and syncronize the timestamp, each corresponding to the USB hard drive disk.
There is an additional plate on the day I am sure only the changes. This hard drive is connected s.PC but is only switched on for the backup.
Important data is also backed up to DVD-RAM.

The device is with me under the table. In the meantime I have again switched to USB.
It actually works very well. For small files the performance is sufficient. Mp3 is still synonymous. But as I always work with a lot of photos and videos, it was much too slow.
SAN will not be back into the house when Gbit LAN, and RAID 5 is inside.
