Frage von Der Nick:Hello my darlings!
Short question: after the new FCS only works with Intel macs, I feel almost compelled to have me go up a new Mac.
So far, I have a PowerPC with 2.5 quad work with 4GB memory and was always very satisfied with the speed.
Now there is, however, be a MacBook Pro. The even go off at around 2.5 GHz, but only Core 2 Duo. Does that mean the only "halbsoviel" and it is synonymous only half of the performance to be expected? Or parts of the Recoucen eh not on all 4 cores?
More concretely:
- I want HD movies without much beach ball cut films
- I work a lot with Final Cut Pro internal color correction (; future probably synonymous with color) and synonymous make many 2D animations in Final Cut Pro
- I work a lot with Photoshop overlays and abusing Final Cut Pro synonymous times as Composingprogramm.
- DVD Studio Pro, Soundtrack, LiveType, play a minor role in my
- How long is the Export and Coding ultimately need is pretty no preference, just the working fluid is important to me.
Which MacBook Pro is appropriate for these purposes? Of course I would not spend more than necessary ...

I would say that the performance of your quad-core is superior to the Macbbook. However, snow leopard will be much more effective, which should be more than compensated. I use for similar tasks for almost 2 years a macbook pro with 4Gb ram, 2.4 GHZ Core2duo and a GeForce 8600M GT, like a hard drive with 7200 rpm and never had any problems. If you ever want to connect a capture card, I would you to 17 "mac book pro advise. The only disadvantage of the price and size. For your purposes, should be sufficient, the 15" macbook pro. However, I would also order necessarily a faster hard drive.

I last cut on a 3 years old Core 2 Duo MacBook with HDV, FCE. This goes even if the material is located on an external USB hard drive.
