Frage von FabeX:Hello community,
ich hab mir recently bought the XH A1 and am now at a point not quite sure ..
There are several shops in the mini-DV cassettes and mini-DV cassettes for HDV.
I can somehow very difficult for me to imagine that only the HDV cassettes for HD recordings are suitable.
Is it possible for HD recordings synonymous to "normal cheap" use cassettes?
The "seller" in Saturn has meant you have to use HD-cassettes. (Somehow, I have yet never to a Saturn / Media Markt / Cosmos seller familiar ...;))
I hope someone can help me ..
Thank you

If only a marketing gimmick. Those things are no more and no less suitable than for normal HDV MiniDV cassettes. Some of these "HDV tapes" have ne better coating, so there are fewer dropouts, but with de normal cassette rare enough.

XH A1 My s.meisten had problems with the included Canon HDV tape (other synonymous!) And with the cheap Sony Premium.
The Canon drives are probably a bit silly what tapes are concerned, but it has always been, like me many Canon XL, XM owner wrote.
In the scene, Canon has the Panasonic AY-DVM63AMQ tape proved that it costs about 5 euros and runs until now with my XH A1 flawlessly. But maybe it's just synonymous (Canon) superstition and any other curious tape is synonymous with no dropouts ....

Has someone experience?

From the near circle, contributions from here in the forum and own experience can be as far as I know only Sony Premium tapes Dropout guarantee a genuine offer, so they better not. The fact that the more expensive HDV tapes that also provide examples (trunk) is good to know. A negative list is in any meaningful than a best-list.
Have so far in Fuji or Panasonic tapes have never heard of problems.

onist something s.thema past as it did not specifically for the Canon but I would look at the Maxell synonymous and try the TDKs.
Of this I have been masses in the FX-1 and small HC-3 "exposed" with not a single dropout yet!
The cost for the Saturn 5-Pack setback EUR 11.
Sony tapes IMO you should rather avoid, because you hear very often that the heads of quite zuschmieren.
Sounds perhaps little odd, but I come from the audio corner and for many years I was strip material is concerned with TDK and Maxell (analog and digital) the best experience. Decades-old DATs are still perfect, and recently I came across some old music darling pushed the eternity before I had played on cassette - the TDKs sound fresh as s.ersten day, BASF (-> EMTEC) tapes which I was had been broken and all muffing. Huge difference. Of course, because now you can not directly draw conclusions on the quality of the DV - Tapes close, but I think both the manufacturer remains the best material.
So free and easy times 5 tapes record with HDVsplit Capture (gives error message when dropouts!) And if error free, use and save a lot of money.

I really wanted to write earlier, but now I have to say that I use for my A1 Sony Premium tapes used without significant problems (about 50 tapes so far). Dropouts resulted only from errors PC Camera.
My experience. It may be that until now I just have luck;)

I was very synonymous to the Panasonic heart - in no case it was called Sony premium, maybe Proffessional - but never Premium. The drums seem very vollzudrecken, so that the then soon to be clean again. So this was before all other things (synonymous before drop-outs), and that it has expensive maintenance costs by cheap tapes.

Have so far for my SonyDCR-HC 30E Sony Premium ALWAYS used. But after all, what I read here so I will be in the XH-A1 Panasonic seem to change.

have tons of dropouts synonymous with the sony "premium" strip. even the cheap TDK dinger (in packaging with the rainbow changing colors ^ ^) are better ...
now try the AY-DVM63PQ:)

In any case, I arrange for video work always fresh PDV Tapes of Sony. A little pricey, but do not know any non-self dropouts.
