How long should a cable solution to be?
For me it would have the approximately 8 meters.
Would that be with a DVI-HDMI cable still work?

the more expensive. However you would have the answer immediately synonymous with Google had ...
I found too expensive, so I have now a HTPC in the end ;-) Was a little more expensive (almost all the components were already available), but I have my work computer completely decoupled from the entertainment. And most of the data were anyway on a NAS (network storage).
