I see lately more and more lights with XLR Cable .. eg:

And synonymous Power Gird packs and usually have XLR connections.
Why is an audio cable for abused the power supply?

XLR is not necessarily an audio cable. It is one of the best and easiest options for symmetrical signal transmission ..
3-pole goes for audio, small lamps, etc. .. Video Kamers be gepowert eg with 4-pin XLRs ... that goes up to 7 pin plugs, which I could think straight because no application ...
