Infoseite // Xacti HD1000: Which HD format for editing?

Frage von zero815:

Hello,
I switched of the HD1A on the Sanyo HD1000 (; used). And somehow I am now s.Rande of despair in which HD format should I record now.
Offers the following:

720p30
720p60
1080i (; 60)

I bought Adobe Premiere Elements 7 to the cutting.
The future output format will be Blu-Ray, because my s.zukunftssicheren appear. Until I have such a burner, I would like in a play-station-3 HD-compatible output file.

Premiere Elements 7 can apparently output to Blu-Ray only 1080i, that is interlaced. It would therefore make sense in theory, be recorded exactly.
However, I am no friend of interlaced. Not least because (my PC, dual-core 2.0 GHz) in this format makes slack.

Tested as follows:

720p30:
+ Runs smoothly on my PC as a preview
+ Easy to output to an HD file (; mpeg2)
- Extremely jerky (for faster horizontal panning, low time resolution)
- Must be scaled up for Blu-Ray 1080i and interlaced (; possibly loss of quality)

720p60:
+ (Super liquid Picture; on my PC in slow motion)
- Will of Adobe Premiere Elements 7 only known as 29.97 fps -> slow motion -> useless

1080i (; 60)
+ Super liquid Picture
+ Scaling and image output in Premiere Elements in a HD-file succeeds quite well
+ No change for the Blu-Ray edition (; necessary 1080i)
- Very jerky playback on my PC
- Scaling and progressive conversion for file output needed

Have I missed something in my tests? Do you have a tip for the recording format? Do you have a tip for the subsequent processing?
I would be glad about every hint.
Why? My daughter will make in the coming days take their first steps (;) learn to walk. And it would be a shame if I continue this very important moments in the wrong format.

Schonmal Thank you for your help.

Regards
Marko

Mal ne Frage:
30p or 60i NTSC format are based. We here in Germany but based PAL format, so 25p or 50i.
Can the camera, only the "American" format, so no 25p or 50i?

Antwort von zero815:

Yes, (the camera, Sanyo Xacti HD1000) is only the NTSC format. Like all cameras of Sanyo.
But it should be for the mordern display devices no problem, as does even 60 Hz.

Only just about the exact mode, I am not aware of.

Hi zero815,

if it is to be future proof, then just take the progressive modes.
And if it is to be future proof, then do not take your current processing situation as an argument.

And tend to make mistakes, to exchange the HD1000 to the HD2000!

Lars
