Frage von MeikelTi:Stupid Question: I have recently read in the c't that most current TFTs only a 24-bit color space can represent (8 bits per color x 3 colors).
1. Is that correct?
And 2 How do I get a TFT with a 48-bit color?
And 3 Do I need a picture and video editing (after conversion of raw jpg with Lightroom and DV editing with Premiere)
on a TFT with a 48-bit color? Ie, I see a difference on my LCD, when the starting material in 12 or 14 bit available?
Edit from Mod: Thread in the category "Hardware" postponed.
Antwort von HeikoS:
There is no color TFT with 48Bit.
What you probably mean is the internal calculation of the color, which in quality (especially hardwarekalibrierbaren) TFTs in this or an even higher precision is carried out. Synonymous But they can ultimately only 256 gradations per color display.
And that is already synonymous the main purpose of a higher internal bit:
Ensure that synonymous really 24Bit s.Ende not get out and summarized some levels, which in any case will be the case when you want to color management.
So if you want to color work, you will hardly get round such a TFT.
