Hello,
1 hour in DV PAL format takes about 13GB space, so in about 4 hours and 20GB somewhat closely. The more compression codecs are usually synonymous significantly computationally intensive, ie the 43 hours can be quite realistic.

With 20 GB of free Speichzer present, unfortunately, is as good as nothing to do, since you'll be with you if an upgrade will have to tackle.
The other point is the film length, with medium quality you bring around 120 minutes on a DVD with good 74 min.
The long render times, which you will, of course, stems in part from that very little space for temporary files remain.
In short order you have the movie cut 4:47 hrs where you want the transport?
