avi wanted a few sequences in a movie together. first tried with VirtualDub (there are actually synonymous to the German?), the error message, ... requires a vfw compatible codec ... because I've abandoned me and the movie maker download. stopped but of course when I presided over one of my opinions and will push to send a report. the avi files I have with a cheap digicam to the computer and pushed. with real player you can watch synonymous.

Nix, you do nothing wrong.
The programs build crap. VirtualDub is lacking in a particular relief program for reading the video (codec). It comes with Movie Maker crashes. And RealPlayer can not edit, but Show.
The closest I can imagine running VirtualDub to make it work. This would require you to know, which codec is missing. Is that the full and exact error of VirtualDub or is there possibly even more cryptic Zeuch?
Can you have a very very short clip as an attachment to post here? No matter what, then the wallpaper s.der wall, it is only important that the file info you can read.
Alternatively you can try with the freeware GSpot more info about your video out. The tool should be here in the tool collection to be registered, right?
Still alternatively, you can write what Digicam cheap it is. Then you can search the files of this camera are written and how it possibly can be processed.

The missing codec (the utility) is Xvid. I recommend this codec through the installation of
ffdshow to install.
