There are mpeg-1 and -2, at -2 or the possibility of SVCD and DVD.
What settings did you use in TMPG mpg for yours? If you've used PAL DVD video, you can simply burn it with Nero as a video DVD.

You need only bring the MPEGs into DVD-compatible format.
For this you need an authoring program such as Ulead DVD MovieFactory.
NERO also brings in the full version with similar functionality.
The same applies in principle for VCDs and SVCDs.
