hello ..
I have a video that at about 50% consists of still images (photos shot from the tripod soft dazzled each other, so it changes only a small part) in the picture, the rest are short video clips ..
these clips are really only as introduction to each of the following photos .. So to be more of a photo presentation.
Now I have the following problem: the pictures in video quality is very bad, after of (bildern the moving that is, the clips) is cut to photo. it takes a while (a few seconds), vanish until the image artifacts.
for my purposes it would be better reversed: ie good quality still images in the clips can be quiet so high quality ..
what codec is suitable for purposes of such?
I have now used high-quality DivX 6: as I said, great for quick videos, but for a photo that 2 seconds on the screen remains unchanged, I can forget it because of bad quality ..
furthermore I create a divx file is currently using virtualdub from an uncompressed avi, divx codec not because the premiere shines .. I can not avoid this detour?

Hello Danjel (unusual with the j),
DivX is (only) for the compression of video tapes designed so that the files need to minimize space. This naturally has consequences for the quality.
If you put special emphasis on the latter, you could use a lossless codec, such HuffYUV. Thus, the video files are of course much greater than with DivX. Also recommended for DV video, the Matrox codec. ;-)

Thanks for the quick response erstmal ..
I will try again with the HuffYUV codec. File size does not matter. Should hold even be playable (with my 28gb uncompressed avi is no longer the case)
As I said, the quality of the videos are (only visuals consisting of old shooting archive.org) is rather trivial .. but the photos should just look good.
