Hello,
I'm in the situation that I have a vhs-video of a school play put on a dvd is. the digitization itself is not a problem, but unfortunately I have no idea what I observed during authoring rohling themselves or dvd-must be synonymous with this is the dvd player dvd-playable on most.
Which is better? dvd + or dvd?
what else is there to consider?

First, I recommend, if permitted by your authoring software to create a DVD image. Thereafter, it is then no matter whether you are a DVD + or DVD-burning. Today's DVD players can read both formats. With the older devices, there are unfortunately often for restriction + or -. To that extent, you should consider both formats. In my purely subjective exercise, most older devices may tend to read the - format.
Otherwise, you really only need to note that the Image DVD is compliant created. Ie, not too high bit rate (up 9,000), while it would make for VHS source material in any case makes little sense.

- Etvl. slight blur used to disguise inferior VHS-quality
- Bitrate 6000 (in terms of picture quality)
- Select a chapter for authoring DESIRABLE (special situations, object exchange)
- Not too much Schnickschnak while authoring

Why?
- The bitrate solt, as already mentioned, not be too high. Otherwise, it depends on the length about the film / e.
- Whether and to what bells and whistles into (em) but the menu is completely subjective.

In my opinion, very important: only (!) Using DVD-R (ie "MINUS-R" and NOT "pros-R"). This is definitely the more secure format that will run in almost all standalone players. I am not a standalone player known only can read DVD + R disc. But I know 'ne lot (especially old ones) that only come with DVD-R clear. For drives in personal computers that is not quite so simple, but in my experience synonymous roughly follows this pattern.
