I would definitely not with Encore, but using a simple website-chen. Can Photoshop in a web gallery and create good!

Saving you the trouble and buy dir'n DVD player with built-in slide show function and schenk failing which the lucky recipient with DVD to ... ;-) Otherwise: How readily does not do that, because such games are not in the DVD standard are provided. You have to just a menu from the build 50 images (in the size more then recognizes None so's at least 2 of them), then each picture as a button to define, possibly create animated transitions (Encore does not need Premiere or After Effects ) and somehow the whole course verküpfen. just before Christmas so you could run away because the time, but it's just with work. ;-)

You probably do not need the "classic" vein (video -) DVD player, but you want a DVD disc using for instance, because of its storage capacity, robustness and simplicity in use.
The crucial question is whether this disc only on a strictly home DVD Players and so on a television play, or whether more anyway and mostly a PC to be triggered.
If the former applies, then you're probably over the (tedious) tinker together with conventional DVD authoring means not around and thus produce a conventional video-DVD (technically speaking) with some unusual use. Man did you described above.
If the latter applies, then you have two options:
1. A true multimedia application for such purposes to find, to learn and use your disk to build.
2. A 'Web' application to build, then what on the PC's browser LOCAL calls to all images and by clicking on the large frame to make. With Photoshop Elements, for example (or dozens of other graphics programs) you can quite comfortably so-called web galleries and then create the DVD (as a pure disk) memory.
