Frage von marie:Hi, im having trouble with my firewire.
When i go to network connections i can see the firewire registered sa net adapter with a driver installed called 'nic 1394.sys'
I want to use my firewire for uploading video from camcorder to PC but for some reason my video editing software wont detect the camcorder. Could it be that i have the wrong driver installed for fire wire (nic 1394.sys indicates this is used for networking, not video uploading).
Does any one have any help?

Hello Marie!
After your other posts on German are, I will answer you in that language.
What operating system do you have? With XP, there are some problems with Firewire under the Service Pack 2 (SP2).
There are some threads already in the forum. Einfach mal suchen "Firewire" and "SP2"
Greeting
Oliver

Hello,
upload the video does not work via the network connection. Your FireWire adapter should appear in your device manager ssIEEE 1394 Bus host controller (in s.own chapter, not under the network adapters).
For capturing video it should therefore be OHCI compliant. Please check if your adapter is OHCI compliant. If yes, I think you should try with a different driver.

Moinsen people, and thanks for the efforts!
German or English = no preference!
I have Windows XP SP2 & my IEEE 1394 Bus host controller is OHCI-compliant,-when I connect my DV camera (dcr HC23E) via I-Link cable s.dem notebook computer of me wants to have a Drivers! Typically, but without going solls, synonymous-they have shown me in the store.
After I can not install the drivers because it simply does not exist on the included CD, and the Internet is not synonymous, I get the message that the installation of the hardware was faulty and they ewentuell (with security) not working properly.
So, when you connect the camera s.dem notebook will recognize it as a "new hardware", and in Device Manager it is under "Other Devices" listed as "AV / C subunit, with a yellow question mark and exclamation point. I have completely the same problem at two levels of computers! ..
At Saturn, the computer searched for the car, already in the existing operating system drivers, as they my Camera and my firewire cable s.einen Windows XP SP2 operating system joined!
After I gesürft days on the forums on the net but I have already heard a million times that associated with the SP2 firewire problems could (Saturn was in the store) but this is not the case!
When I use the Device Manager, click the "Properties" of "AV / C Subunit going," he indicates: "This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)"
Then I got all of the following tips:
Disable firewire card, reboot, nothing has brought.
Networks enable network connections: 1394 connections has brought nothing
Switch on firewall and virus programs, has brought nothing
-Download SP2 patch has brought nothing, or I have the wrong?
-Update all drivers for the computer cards, so they are up to date. (My notebook is from 2003)
Since my computer is set so that it automatically downloads updates, I do not understand why the überhaubt should be necessary.
I'm still synonymous's trying, but I'm too stupid wahrscheinl ensure the pages on which I land are either faulty or the updates are available or do not understand what I'm supposed to download überhaubt. (-and perhaps whether more could have negative effects)
I feel einbisschen slowly fucked me, I would not only cut films, not a computer geek.
I look forward with hope of any reply!
Actual If I can help someone, I'll think about it if I his name on the ass tatowieren lasse. / quote]

Actual If I can help someone, I'll think about whether I let tatowieren his name on the ass. Worried you a PC or motherboard with Intel chipset. With VIA or Nforce chipsets, there is always trouble.
I'm sorry is so.

Hi Mark & thanks for reply, but I've read randomly Page EinPaar trillion times already without result.
My problem lies elsewhere!
Hello Der_kleine_Techniker!
Ichs've understood correctly, I think that you should buy nen new PC? Can not auswächseln the chipset?
Once upon a media player connected via Firewire to camera easily with ner which has been pinched me, (-I `s and therefore can not try).
Well-folded, it has before,-the Firewire connection!
Now with the new camera works absolutely nothing!
Is not it possible that my computer is camera-could combine with older models?
So if I can find a profitable solution that will be my tattoo UNFORTUNATELY be different.

Or is it more likely that you do not want to admit it, because one can not simply set somewhere in Windows, a checkmark next to "Disable SP2 Firewire problem? ;-)
Test your camcorder, but other times s.einem Calculator WinXP without SP2. If he works as ... so, what then?

Hello Der_kleine_Techniker!
Ichs've understood correctly, I think that you should buy nen new PC? Can not auswächseln the chipset? Well, if the money is no problem, then a fine with Intel Pentium chipset is not bad. A Centrino notebook running as best of all for me with XP SP2.
With the change is not. The chipset is fixed tightly integrated on the motherboard.
Otherwise, you can still try and take instead of Windows XP SP2, Windows 2000. Simply old hard drive out, borrowed hard drive clean, Windows 2000 on it.
Or do you ask in times of friends, if you know someone with computer helps to update the chipset driver of the current board.
Achso, nachgucken times Bios settings, and Look, if this can be updated, etc. ..

(perhaps erstmal assists) a new clean and naked XP Iinstallation?
I would not know what may have s.Drivers, tool and update on the mess rumfliegt Calculator.

Tach hers, and super thanks for all the answers!
So, my notebook actually runs quite amazing, you (only want nen drivers for my camera) they have there is `no` to a tangle!
The SP2 can not be removed of my computer, and I have no computer there, without SP2.
The store has `s works with SP2, so I hope that my problem can be solved differently. yes-or I must completely reinstall the operating system install .. uff!
-I just noticed that I have a graphics card ..! white, einbisschen late, but I learn more!
So my graphics card is "ATI Mobility Radeon 9600". Is this the same as the chipset? If not:
-I think what I Hernaus fürn chipset I?
-I have this graphics card upgrade, perhaps?
I missed on the Link of St. Mark before, that the so-called IRQ usage could cause problems! What is it?
Can we ever change this assignment s.einem notebook?
How do I know if for example the Firewire card and the graphics card, the same IRQ is awarded?
Also I read that it could use the Calculator to convert to "Standard PC".
Can someone tell me how to do that, and perhaps obs would be unhealthy?
My firewire card is intact, but I do not know if `s is an onboard Firewire? How to find out?
Thank you, Marie 8-)

I'd place my s.deiner times get a really cheap hard drive, the old out, the new clean install, and Windows XP without SP2.
The whole is faster than hours of tinkering s.alten system. A plate 80ziger there ¬ p.35.
Because of the chipset: please search times for the motherboard manual, it contains the.
And let everything remain update time, sowas makes you only if you have idea, and you have to import exactly the right updates, but you must know what you have s.Hardware. To be honest, I trust you not by your explanations.
