Frage von paxmax:I have recently begun to sony hc1.
I would like to create from the material aufgenommennen a 16:9 dvd quality with the best possible ...
what encoder are good?
By directly downscalen hdv on dvd or dv pal and then only on dvd?
I like a few things to compress WÜD synonymous with. Mov h264 at 720x408. Unfortunately Qicktime per the mpeg2 streams can not open ... how can I get the point anyway?
thank you very much

Come to the editing program, it might say - because gabs some threads in forums that Adobe Premiere there should not be particularly good. But the truth is that the down conversion of HDV to SD seems just in the HC1 extremely well, and all the editing programs that should provide a somewhat lower quality.
So basically it would make sense to cut the film as HDV, to play back in the camera too - and make the output from the camera to SD. Expensive, but one possible solution.
For the conversion to H.264 encoders to provide different then - I personally like Nero Recode as well, but there are people who prefer the other encoder.
But I would like to point to a different time variation. There are currently s.Markt DVD player, the synonymous of a good output of standard DVDs to HD material. I would therefore regard the times rather Xoro 8500 - there has only today, Bruno pointed to an interesting discussion. Perhaps that would be an alternative for you, when you could stay high resolution (at least 720 p).
