Hi All,
I am what Mac DV editing as synonymous terms completely untrained. Could now have an iMac 24 ", 2.93 Ghz, 4 GB of RAM and 512MB GeForce getting along with Final Cut for 1300 euros. I really wanted to get me but rather have a Macbook Pro ... Will there be jmd me some advice?
What should be considered a general principle there?

can you tell me then what you need in principle to work well with final cut too? Do I need ne graphics card with 512MB or synonymous tuts a with 256MB? How much memory is needed? Is 13 inches (for a Macbook) is definitely too small?
Apart from that I do not know whether the price is really good. Ok, but Final cut it costs 199 euros already ...

The 256er graphics card is enough for DV and HDV editing. More important is the Ram.
The 24er is not quite the current series, but its predecessor. The 27 "is, to my successor, Eighth, the extra value.
13 "would be too little, but one can connect a monitor.

A 27er with similar equipment is too expensive. 1300 is actually already over it. To me that's basically halt the question: Which Macbook, which is not more expensive than 1100, I can work well with Final Cut? Or is the 24er with the above equipment so the price unbeatable, that there is because there is no wasting?
I do not need very much synonymous both a mobile device and I can not afford now straight.

Then be sure synonymous to a FW port.
There are MacBooks without FW! The MB have FW400, the MBP FW800.
Otherwise, it will be difficult if you want to connect an HDV camera. External FW panels are designed for DV editing synonymous better than USB.

PS: Cutting s.MBP 15 "with FCE. I felt the space and mobility important. If you have solid editing suite, then I would prefer the iMac or ggf schedule an external monitor. Note (port)
