Frage von Voltz:A friend of me has the following problem:
He has with its digital SLR camera a few hundred photos, which he would like to edit in iMovie to make a slideshow as a video output.
All photos are easy with crossfading to the next mistake. Music is synonymous drauf. The total file size is just over 30 Giga.
After about 1 / 3 of the story are no longer rendered transitions.
He writes me, "the Mac just hangs around because, as he would render, but he will and will not be ready."
His equipment:
Movie 6.0.3, OS X.4.8, MacBookPro 2:33 GHz, 2GB RAM
I have advised him first, the pictures smaller.
It seems somehow to have not worked.
Does iVideo any size or quantity limits?
How useful tip I can give my friend yet?
mv ... itself (yet) have no Mac - but soon :-)

Yes I am aware that iVideo probably something similarly simple, as the Windows Movie Maker. Nevertheless, or precisely for that reason, Mac users I know will certainly give an informed response can be.

First, the program is
iMovie, not iVideo, or you mean something to me - and apparently others - totally unknown.
Secondly, hardly anyone ever tried a slideshow with the file size of 30 GB to render, so the problem is also unknown.
Third, to me that there is a length limit. I would s.deiner body through broken rendering annoyed about five minutes, but then simply the huge timeline in four or five pieces, and the result ausrendern join again.
Fourth would be a slideshow of me about two hours too long anyway.
Fifthly, there are smarter ways to organize hundreds of slides, as they are all in DV Pal Resolutionauszurendern.
