Frage von LightTrancefer:Think most of their camera via firewire with the PC or laptop - for Premiere Recording press or elsewhere - that's it!
Now I have the question: can a CameraLink the quality of a MiniDV tape diminish?
So I lend my regular rotation for a Canon XL2 Dates - If I am now because of lack of time later, the Mini into my old plastic box SonyHC DCR37E and stuff them with FireWire connection and hit record - War I the quality with which I've added the Canon or the quality of the Sony?
Thanks for answers

In principle and in theory, no problem. But Two:
1. As analog tape machines can be synonymous MiniDV drives dejustiert, which may not notice if the same device absorbs and play rare but known from practice.
2. Is not the XL2 has the thing with the Progressive mode? I strongly suspect that in the case, as in Canon HDV 25f, not funzt.

While no specific (of the DV-norm) signals are transmitted and no mechanical problems (disadjustment, pollution) are available, there should be no loss of quality to be recorded.
What keeps you from the simple to try? The tape can not suffer (except with a real defect in your "plastic box" in the direction of band management).

It should be people who even know a cheap camcorder for the second loading, so the drive is "good" Camera is spared - keyword 'Capture bitch. " While technically everything is in order, the quality of the recording unchanged. Is digital.
