Are you trying some on capture via firewire?
That is a hard-Cam, Derren data but should be no problem using the USB cable to the calculator and then let it drag & drop editing program (if this even with the codec which can start).

It is not a problem to do so.
But I had Ulead VideoStudio 9-11.5Plus and a SonyHi 8 Camera
because it was no problem with the detection of my camera.
But now I have this expensive SonyHDR-SR 11E and the software Corel / Ulead VideoStudio Pro X2 now I will have it so that it works. It was the hotline Corel / Ulead told it should funktionirten, the software recognizes the camera car. but unfortunately it is not so.

But your PC recognizes the Cam as a removable disk? Simply copy the clips to the PC as if you have photos of the Digiknipse on the PC would. Corel / Ulead must recognize nothing. So you can then edit the clips in Schnittproggi easy import.

I believe you, it is not clear what your Hi8/D8 must be captured and why your not new. The type of Datentranfsers is a disk cam with completely different. The data are not yet of a slow medium like a tape, but are ready to use on a hard drive before. Just in a folder on your calculator using Explorer copy and ran to edit. Why waste time with unnecessary / impossible capturing waste?
