Antwort von StefanS:
For your own recordings on MiniDV holds:
The most sensible archiving is done on DV tape.
For quick access
additional, not exclusive, nor are external hard disks.
Anything else is unnecessarily costly and, above all quality.
For TV recording, etc. is:
Unaltered original file on external drives.
If it is very important to be redundant.

For quick access additional, not exclusive, nor are external hard disks. This
could be over MPEG2 with a very good codec and high data rate to reflect. This allows the video to several GB shrink without visible quality to cost. If necessary, it is in DV-AVI convert back.
To make something myself but not synonymous, that is archived is only (!) DV-AVI.

Antwort von StefanS:
There are differences in the DV codec. The find, inter alia, on www.slashcam.de above under the heading / / / themes anywhere.
These differences are, however, significantly lower than using a more compressed codecs and thus for your concerns completely uninteresting.
The synonymous for the reason that the data for the various DV codec is the same, because standardized. Remaining difference: DV Type 2 is the soundtrack again additionally stored, so slightly higher memory usage than in DV type 1
