Hello,
I have a sony vx 2100 E, which I bought 3.5 years. I have at most 15 -20 hours so filmed ..
the sony has a broken (I guess times a defective chip, perhaps.) and are:
the camera has had a green strokes made during filming and now I have it since long time now and again is the only building still red with green stripes.
I do not know what that has to mean and whether it is worth it repaired.
I need this cam is no longer, because I no longer work at the film (incidentally, stands for sale here in the forum) and for family shots, I want me ne small party hire canon hv 20th
do you have an idea, what with the camera could be. but I would be interested ..

My PD 170 (synonymous as old) is with precisely this error when z.Zt service. The technician explained that the CCD was broken, this could be a total loss.
However, there is a certain series at Sony, where the Sony CCDs fail and dignity usually accommodating show.
This week I'm expecting a message of Sony.

That sounds like the error, s.denen many VX2000-21000 or PD150 and PD170 and even synonymous DSR-250 ail.
But in most cases no defective CCD but a loose connector s.VI board. The biggest effort is to open the cabinet. The times of up easily fixed to the VI-board press. If you want to make sure that this error does not recur, the times with a few tiny droplets stick. Then you should not gross motor, otherwise it makes you more broken than whole.

@ Guest: reports have a look what your service technician said, I am interested! and with the grace that would actually only fair! can not be that such an expensive camera after a very short time breaks!

do you have an idea, what with the camera could be. but I would be interested .. Claim at Sony, what else! If it is the CCD problem (see thread linked above this posting), then repaired Sonyden Camcorders synonymous after the expiration of the warranty period at their own expense.

So, the effort is worthwhile. sony or dpm, the camera repaired for free. The chip was exchanged.
